FSC® - Forest Stewardship Council
Bovalls has traceability certificates for manufacturing and selling FSC-certified doors. This means that we sell doors that are made of wood from sustainable forests, where forest worker receive decent wages, where animals and vegetation have good conditions for survival and where no more trees are harvested than the forest can replace naturally, and other controlled materials.
FSC® stands for the Forest Stewardship Council, which is an independent, international member organization dedicated to environmentally-friendly, socially responsible and economically viable use of the world’s forests through its FSC certification system.
Certified companies comply with the FSC rules, or standards, for forestry and traceability. Companies that follow these rules can label their products with the FSC mark. The FSC mark helps consumers and companies to choose wood products that support responsibly managed forestry operations. This means forestry operations that take into account people and the environment.
Forests give us clean water, fresh air and help to slow down the process of global warming. They provide food, medicines and important natural resources such as timber and paper. Responsible forestry ensures that forests can continue to offer us these benefits in the future. Companies that sign up to FSC are voluntarily supporting this.
