THE FIRST DOOR WAS BUILT BY OUR GRANDFATHER IN 1943
Bovalls Dörrbyggeri is run by Eva and Inger Gustafsson, the third generation of door builders in the small town of Bovallstrand on the Swedish west coast.
Our carpentry shop is located on the outermost coastline of the Sotenäset peninsula in Bohuslän, western Sweden. The weather here is as harsh today as it was when our grandfather Bengt established his quality standards. That’s why we continue to use approximately the same building methods.
OUR HERITAGE AND OUR HISTORY
Bovalls Dörrbyggeri is run by Eva and Inger Gustafsson. When Bengt Gustafsson founded the company in 1943, he set out to manufacture robust, quality doors for the local community of boathouse and house owners in and around Bovallstrand. Doors that would withstand the harsh weather conditions of the Swedish west coast. Since then, we have worked according to the same standards and quality ever since.
OUR CRAFTSMANSHIP AND OUR KNOWLEDGE
Quality and craftsmanship are close to our hearts. We build our doors with respect for the raw material, which has taken decades to grow. The grain of the wood has been shaped by nature, and every piece, every panel, every frame is unique. We may not think about it so often, but it is actually a great privilege to handle such a beautiful material every day.

For us, the quality of the wood is just as important as its origin. The structure of the wood contains impressions from nature and each piece, each panel, frame and molding is unique. Our doors are therefore built with great respect for the raw material that has taken nature decades to produce. One important step in this process is to use certified wood.
